How to make a Gentle Foot Scrub

As the weeks of winter roll on, we sometimes find that the soles of our feet are in need of some extra TLC.

And because you are so Bella….I’m sharing my 10g gentle foot scrub for you to make in the comfort of your abode….you can upscale or downscale it however you wish….and change/play around with the ingredients in ways that warm your soul too. The best part is that you most probably have all these ingredients already. 10g may seem like a frugal amount, but trust me when I tell you that you do not require more than 10g for both feet.

Gadgets to get you started

. Nitrile gloves.

. A good reliable scale preferably measuring 0,01g upwards, as essential oils should be measured in grams and not in drops. A jewellery scale works well for small amounts.

. Paper towel for a good clean-up.

. A suitable mixing bowl preferably glass or steel to mix the product in.

. A spoon or spatula for mixing.

Getting started

Here’s what to mix together for a 10g batch in a bowl and use straight away.

. 6,6g Salt (I’m using fine pink Himalayan salt here, but any fine salt will do. Ensure that the salt is a fine grain)

. 2,74g Coconut Oil

. 0,6g Olive Oil (or Almond, Avocado or Apricot oil will also do)

. 0,06g Lavender Essential Oil (or whatever essential oil you like, please stick to low amounts)

. A final flourish of lavender flowers for added Aesthetics is optional. The lavender buds were from our garden.

. Work the scrub gently into the feet and let it sit for about 5 minutes before rinsing off, you really do not require more than 10g for both feet.

. It’s best to make this foot scrub as and when you need it. If you do make the product and store it in a jar, store it in the fridge and use it within a week, as you run the risk of water/moisture getting into the product while in use, and it will spoil.

. Stick to the low limits of essential oil as above.
