How to make A Relaxing Massage Oil
You will need only 5 ingredients for this super simple yet highly effective massage oil. The best part is that this is a one phase wonder.
Equipment required – Gadgets to get you going
. Preferably a dropper bottle and/or a bottle with a pipette for ease of use.
. Nitrile gloves.
. A 100g laboratory beaker or a preferably pourable glass container. If it states 100ml on the beaker, that’s fine, as we are using a scale to measure in grams.
. A good reliable scale preferably measuring 0,01g upwards, as essential oils are measured in grams and not in drops. A jewellery scale works well for small batches.
. Heat resistant measuring jugs eg. pyrex, lab beakers and/or stainless steel bowls/jugs for melting butters/oils etc. Preferably something with a spout for easy pouring.
. Paper towel for a good clean-up and/or any spills.
. Pretty labels to label the fruit of your labour.
. Equipment can be sourced from a laboratory supplier, a catering equipment supplier, and/or online. Kindly note that you will have to see what is available in your area, and what suits you best.
The weight of this massage oil Totals 25g. All weight is in grams, not millilitres, even though this massage oil contains only liquids. Below are the amounts that you will need to weigh out using a scale.
Phase one:
. 10g Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil
. 8,75g Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil
. 5,88g Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil
. 0,25g Tocopherol
. 0,12g Lavandula Angustifolia Oil
Now to bring all these beautiful oils together:
. switch the scale on and set your scale to grams.
. place the pourable beaker on to the scale.
. tare the scale.
. weigh out all the ingredients in the order as stated above in Phase 1 in grams, remembering to tare the scale after each ingredient is added.
. stir gently with a clean glass rod, spatula and/or a steel spoon.
. once all the ingredients are thoroughly blended, decant into a pretty dropper bottle and/or a bottle with a pipette for ease of use.
. add a pretty label to the container of the fruit of your labour.
. remember to date your product and completely use within 1 month.
Mindful points
. use product within 1 month of making it.
. This formula is only 25g. You may think that this is quite a piddly amount. However this is done so with you in mind, as I do not want you to waste your precious oils especially if you have not formulated previously.
. adhere to good hygienic practices at all times.
. the product you make is for your personal use only, and not for retail purposes.
. you make this formula at your own risk.
. you will see that I have only added one essential oil in the formula as I want you to get the feel of pouring and blending first. If the essential oil does not appeal to you, please feel free to use an oil that does, adhering to the amount/s specified as there are dermal limits with some essential oils.

Directions for use
. Please take note that these are safety precautions with you in mind.
. Use a clean pipette and/or dropper to decant the required amount of product for use.
. Store all product/s below 25°C, out of direct sunlight, away from heat and water.
. DO NOT store your products in a bathroom, and/or bathroom cupboard/cabinet, and/or a damp and/or wet area, and/or near any humidity, as your product will spoil.
. Products are not suitable for pregnancy, lactating mothers, and/or children, and/or babies.
. A 24 hour patch test on the inner arm is highly recommended when using any product for the first time including ones that you make.
. Products are for external cosmetic skincare use only.
. Should an allergic reaction and/or sensitivity unfortunately occur, please stop use immediately.
. This formulation is for home use only and not for you to take to market and/or sell to the public.
